A New Year : A Fresh Start : Another AdventureHope you have had some time to slow down and be refreshed over the past month. I have enjoyed seeing a few movies that have stimulated some key thoughts for goals, and messages I can build on for this year. I also had the privilege and opportunity to be part of a mission team to the Philippines – As well as physically building a church, doing some outreach events with the local church. It was especially great to do a one day Pastors’ seminar with Lee Sykes from Cornerstone (Busselton). We had 91 Pastors attend with some travelling for over 5 hours to get there.
New Year – New Goals … We are organising three forum days in different locations to provide an opportunity for some dialogue and visioning with regard to COCWA. They will be held in – Each day will go from 10am – 2.30pm having two sessions, one either side of lunch. Our current President - Max Rivett, Interim Executive Minister - Tania Watson, Bill Addison and I will be at each one. Please make every effort to attend so you can have an opportunity to discuss, ask questions and hear current ideas and thinking for the future. Many of us make ‘New Years Resolutions’ in a desire to make this year different and better than last year. Will we get to the end of 2010 and wonder what happened to the year? We only have direction when we set some goals. One of my goals for this year is to implement the challenge to “Know God in a fresh and deeper way”. This has come from the verse in Hosea 6:6. What goals do you have this year to replenish what you give out? Every day you give out to others you need to put something back in the tank. How will you do this as your season or circumstances change? Doing something new or different can help keep our hearts full and refreshed as we serve and minister to our families, friends and congregations.
We have to put something in place to help us into ACTION. What is it you want to change? Stay in touch with each other, call, text, or catch up, encourage and inspire each other.
