CCCA has recently undertaken a review of all aspects of running a ministry enabling portable long service leave within Churches of Christ nationally.

Based on advice received and CCCA’s prayerful consideration of same, the unanimous decision has been taken to gradually wind-down MEBS, with a final conclusion date of 30 June 2019.

Note that funds for long service leave may be applied for using the usual application for long service leave form. These applications will be able to be processed until 31 May 2019.

A MEBS closure form will be posted to all members before the end of May 2018.

All MEBS members and contributing employers have had relevant information posted to them, including the contact person in each State Office to follow up for further information.

The transition to the Ministers’ & Employees’ Benefits Scheme (MEBS) from the Provident Fund was finalised in early 2012.
MEBS is now operating as an affiliated agency of Churches of Christ in Australia – ie part of the legal entity of CCCA. Previously the Provident Fund was run as a seperate trust with a company trustee.

Payments via Electronic Fund Transfer- 30 Jan 2012

This is the first year that we are actively promoting the option to enable contributions to be made by electronic banking.  For those taking up the option of internet banking, please be aware that it is important to post (or scan & email) the completed Contribution Notices back to the office & follow the steps outlined in the email that will be sent to you on receipt of the notices to enable the correct amount to be allocated to individual members.  For more information, please contact us.

Name Change- 1 July 2011

As you may have noticed, the Churches of Christ Provident Fund has changed its name to the “Ministers’ and Employees’ Benefits Scheme” (MEBS).

Please note that essentially nothing has changed for our members or contributing employers. MEBS continues to provide an external account enabling portable Long Service Leave.  Administration services for MEBS will continue to be provided by the Centenary Development Foundation (CDF).

For legislative reasons, a change in governance structure has ensured that it is clear that MEBS is a service provided by Churches of Christ in Australia. The new name is part of this change, clarifying that it is open to all Ministers and employees within organisations affiliated to Churches of Christ in Australia.   If you have any questions, please contact us.
